Ever since I published my website, it got me thinking what should I write about first? Then it dawned on me, the best place to begin is where it all stemmed from. The main role model being Audrey Hepburn. So today I'm going to talk to you a bit about Audrey, what she stood for, her inspirations and also her style and beauty tips.

Hepburn was born in Belgium but for the most part spent her childhood in the Netherlands during the Second World War. Here, she studied ballet before moving to London in 1948 where she continued to train in ballet whilst she worked as a photographer's model. Whilst deciding to pursue a career in acting, she performed in various West End musicals. After, she appeared in multiple British films and starring in 1951 Broadway play Gigi giving her instant Hollywood stardom especially for playing the Academy-Award winning lead female role in Roman Holiday. Soon after, she played in multiple award-winning films such as Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sabrina, Funny Face and My Fair Lady. She remains one of the few entertainers who have won an Oscar, Grammy, Emmy and Tony Awards.

Her later devotion to Unicef was inspired by her childhood when she herself went through war-time struggles. This encouraged her to work in many deprived areas of Africa, Asia and South America contributing to the organisation from the 50s-early 90s, where she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in recognition of her work as a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador. At the age of 63, Audrey died from appendices cancer at her home in Switzerland.

3 Tips you need to know to achieve Audrey's Look

1)Her Classic Eye Makeup

Audrey had a very simple but effective eye look. From her winged eyeliner to compliment her almond eyes to her clumpless mascara. Now you might be wondering what sort of mascara is she using to create this look? Well her secret isn't actually a specific mascara it's a pair of tweezers! Audrey would get her makeup artist to separate her lashes using a tweezer before and after applying mascara to achieve her signature cat eye.

2) Her Hair

I don't know about you but I have often wondered how Audrey always seemed to have picture perfect hair even off set. This might come as a shock to you but the hair mask that she swore by you can still buy today! The Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. It was originally created for Hepburn and is still just as good as it was then.

3) Her signature scent

Givenchy's L'interdit was specially customised just for her in 1957, with notes of orange blossom, tuberose, vetiver and patchouli. L'interdit is French meaning forbidden after Audrey's request to make this fragrance available to the public and not just for her.
