The perfect Paris itinerary

Hello, and welcome back to another post of according to Madalena. It feels like I haven't posted in a while but today I am back to share with you my recommendations for where to go and what to do in Paris from personal experience and even a couple of places that might be interesting to research and go to, which I have found after coming back last summer.

In order to put my itinerary together I used an app called Tripsy. This proved really useful as you can categorise your activities for each day, get reminders, customise it depending on where you're going and directions all in the same app so if you ever need to get organised and put all of your plans into one app I highly recommend getting tripsy! First of all I thought I would give you a brief background on my trip so my mum, cousin and I went to Paris for 9 days from the 27/7/23-4/8/23 and we flew into the Charles de Gaulle airport where we stayed at Hotel Splendid Etoile, which was an amazingly central location, comfortable and with gorgeous views of the Arc de Triumph. We didn't have anything planned for our arrival day therefore our trip properly started the next day. We decided to go to Angelina's near the Louvre to try the famous hot chocolate, which I can highly recommend and then we went to the most chic Parisian restaurant Le Recrutement, where you can see the Eiffel Tower at the bottom of the street, which was probably one of the best meals we had whilst being there.

Day 2 - Disney Day°o°

We actually weren't planning on going to Disneyland Paris but I'm so glad we booked to go it was such a good day out and was a direct metro ride there and back.... however if you are only doing a day trip like we were I highly recommend booking fast passes as it makes it easier to go on all rides possible whilst staying for the firework show at the end of the day! My top 3 rides were crush's coaster, avengers and big thunder mountain and seeing the firework show just topped off the day beautifully.

Day 3 - Sacre Coeur

Next stop:sightseeing. Throughout our trip we utilised the metro to get everywhere as our hotel was a 2 minute max walk away from a metro station, therefore one of the natural first sightseeing stops was the Sacre Coeur. It was a beautiful building inside and out, which was completely free to visit as well as being surrounded by Montmartre so after visiting this magnificent cathedral you can walk along the streets filled with shops, ice cream places as well as souvenir shops. To end off the lovely day, we had dinner at Le Vin Coeur, which was delicious as well as being conveniently located across from our hotel.

Day 4 - Eiffel Tower and the River Seine

Next stop on our trip to Paris had to be the Eiffel Tower. If you're going to Paris, make sure you book your tickets in advance as they sell out quickly! The Eiffel Tower had gorgeous views of the whole city including the Arc de Triumph as well as having a lovely cafe and souvenir shop. We concluded our day by going to Giorgio Disco Trattoria for a lovely pizza before going on a River Seine cruise in the evening where we saw the Eiffel Tower sparkling, which was incredibly magical!

Day 5 - Rodin Museum and Moulin Rouge

If you're an art lover, then a trip to the Rodin is for you. They had a collection of pieces from Monet's work to all different shaped and sized sculptures accompanied with a gift shop and an outdoor cafe. We followed this day trip with a Moulin Rouge trip. It was incredible! From the cosy atmosphere to the vibrant costumes, show and music it is well worth a watch!

Day 6 - Dior Exhibition and a walk down the Champs Elysees

We started off the day with a walk down the Champs Elysees browsing the shops, going for some lunch until it was time to jump onto the metro to the Dior exhibition, which I have made a separate post on if you're interested but I highly recommend going. It was beautifully put together and you can get lost in it for at least a couple of hours. We finished off a beautiful day by going to Bambini, which was a beautiful and cosy restaurant where we had pizza's with a view of the Eiffel Tower close by.

Day 7 - Louvre

Finally, we concluded our trip with a visit to the Louvre. I would highly recommend booking your tickets as otherwise we wouldn't have gotten in. We also visited Laduree to pick out a selection of macaroons before our flight the next day. To top off our trip to Paris, we went up the Arc de Triumph to take in the Parisian views at sunset as well as the Eiffel Tower lighting up for the last time.
